There are a lot of foods which in spite of being non-healthy are labeled as health foods, making you believe that they are health food and not junk. Save yourself from the extra fat, calories, sodium and sugar by examining the labels and consuming lesser processed foods.
Diet Soda-
All types of sodas contain acids and chemicals that are no good for you and all they do is increase your waistline. Besides this, the bloating and gas problems caused due to the intake of sodas are good enough a reason to quit it the earliest.
Frozen Meals-
Frozen meals which are the easy and quick lunch option for many of us are mostly labeled as if though they are healthy and low cal meals but that’s far from the reality. These so called healthy foods aren’t any healthy and are loaded with sodium and acids. Also the fact that they are processed clearly means they are far from being fresh and healthy.
Smoothies-
There are a lot of us who prefer smoothies instead of the meals assuming that smoothies are packed with lots of vitamins and nutrients. But the truth is that the smoothies at the juice bar are loaded with carbs and sugars. These smoothies are far from being nutritious and are not low in calories as presumed by most of us. Instead, make your own smoothie by blending mixed fruits, whey protein powder and almond milk as a healthier alternative.
Low Fat Granola-
Granola looks to be a healthy snack but once you inspect the nutrition facts; you’ll find out that granola isn’t a healthy food. Usually, granola is packed with lots of calories and sugar. In fact, granola also contains preservatives and hydrogenated oils.
Dried Fruit-
It’s hard to believe but dried fruits aren’t any good. The fact that they are easily portable makes it more preferable than the real version. But the reality is that once the fruit is dried, dehydration would strip most of the nutrients that are present naturally in the real fruit. Moreover, the calories present in dehydrated version of the real fruit is almost double than the fresh one. So eat fresh fruit as much as possible and in case of dried version, limit it’s intake to avoid the calorie overload.
Surprising, isn’t it? Hence forth don’t forget to read the labels and ingredients carefully and just avoid processed foods. Switch over to fresh foods as they are certainly healthy.
