Exercise Addiction – How It Can Do More Harm than Good?

It is universally recognized that exercise is very good for health. Exercise gives your body a proper shape, improves your mental health and battles against innumerable health disorders. But you may be familiar with the saying that “too much of anything is bad”. YES, this rule applies to good things also.

According to many health experts 3500 is the maximum limit of calorie burning through workout but if go beyond this, it can easily create serious health problems for you. If you are working out like anything then take a break and check out these facts which prove that how working like crazy is unhealthy for you.

  • SLEEPING DISORDERS

People who exercise daily face this problem. Daily intense workout makes your body lethargic, tired and drained out. After running for 100 miles per hour your brain starts feeling tired and sends signals to take sleep. A drained body leads to various sleeping disorders.

  • EATING DISORDERS

Exercise becomes an addiction to those people who want to lose weight as soon as possible. Due to this it increases the habit of unhealthy eating or very less amount of food. Exercise craving can cause eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia.

  • IRREGULAR MENSTRUAL CYCLE

You want to lose weight and spends hours in gym, along with this your diet is very low; eventually you see changes in your menstrual cycle. Not a surprising thing. Rigorous training causes bone less which is also known as “Amenorrhea” and if not taken seriously then it becomes very difficult to cure it. Weight loss and excessive stress also causes amenorrhea.

  • WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM

A lot of intense exercise weakens your immune system. Overdose of exercise makes you more prone to cold, coughs and viruses. Moderate exercise strengthens your immune system but extra dose of this slows down the working of immune system.

  • MORE INJURIES

Extreme exercise leads to tendons and strained ligaments. Excessive workout makes your body more prone to injuries.

How much exercise is good for me?

Exercise can be harmful if you overdo it. Do exercise in moderate levels like 4-5 times in a week. When you follow a new exercise a plan, start slow and gradually to inhale maximum benefits. Otherwise, you can face terrible side effects of workout.

So the bottom line is that if you overdo workout then the effects of this can be terrible for you. Try to be fit and stop working out like a crazy fellow.
